Cabbage Steak Adventures

HELLO Ladies and lads, 



So its been a long minute but I 'm back. I'm excited to share my new ideas and recipes. i hope you enjoy them as well.

CABBAGE STEAK = versatility at its finest.


Is a great alternative or the SKINNY, for a refined and flavorful spin on cabbage.

Cabbage is very versatile, can be boiled, sauteed, char grilled, and baked. And it is a perfect pairing for protein and carb dishes such a polish kielbasa, beef etc.



Heres the recipe -------------------->

Ingredients:

1 whole cabbage

1 tsp of  ground black pepper

2 tsp of kosher salt( Himalayan salt, iodized salt, modify to your liking)

1 tbsp of olive oil (or vegetable oil, feel free to modify your oil of choice)

* 1 tsp of brown sugar (twist) or honey for a light topper

3 tsp of chipotle southwest seasoning. 

CABBAGE BENEFITS: 

Vitamin C, Potassium 



What to do: 


  • I wash the cabbage, 

  • cut and layer cabbage in wedges like little round steaks

  • or a wheel like shape.

  • layer cabbage in baking dish. 

  • pre-heat oven to 365 degrees  (reference oven settings) 5-7 minutes

  • pour 1 tbsp of olive oil (or vegetable oil, feel free to modify your oil of choice) like a light drizzle over layered cabbage 

  • evenly distribute over layered cabbage. 

  • combine: 1 tsp of  ground black pepper + 2 tsp of kosher salt + 3 tsp of chipotle southwest seasoning. 

  • bake for 15-20 minutes, going for a light, crispy, golden feel. 




SUCCESS

this is a great aperitif, side dish, perfect vegetarian, or vegan option.
